Much like the rest of the country, we loved taking time to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee over the last week. Both residents and staff members got thoroughly involved in the celebrations, making it an event to remember. Here’s what we got up to across the Notaro ARBD homes!
Starting us off across our homes in Somerset and Devon, rose bushes were planted by the residents to begin the commemorations of the Queen’s 70 years of service. We saw plenty of involvement from residents and staff alike, with everyone adding to our already flourishing gardens. These roses were a special variant, released specially for the Platinum Jubilee, with proceeds going toward the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST)! We can’t wait to see these flowers bloom into something gorgeous and add new vibrancy to our gardens.
Residents at our Campania ARBD Care Home in Weston-super-Mare turned their celebrations into something creative, as they all contributed to a colourful collage portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. We were all incredibly impressed with the outcome of the collage, and we don’t think it would look half as good without everyone’s contributions!
What better way to celebrate than by getting outside too! We were blessed with delightful weather over the weekend, meaning we could transform our gardens into some lovely social areas, adorned with Union Jack table cloths, bunting, and plates! It was great to see everyone outside basking in the sun in our garden, rounded off with some cake to enjoy with the other celebrations going on!
All in all, what a weekend of laughs, reminiscing, and memories it was! We were left so pleased by the atmosphere and socialising we saw. We all pass on our huge thanks to Her Majesty once again, for an incredible 70 years (and counting!) serving under her name – and here’s to many more wonderful celebrations at Notaro ARBD Care Homes.
