As 2025 is already well underway, we thought we’d take a moment to reflect on the incredible year we had at Notaro ARBD Care in 2024. It was a year filled with connection, celebration, and community, all driven by our unwavering commitment to supporting residents and staff.

This year, residents enjoyed a wealth of exciting trips, each one offering a new opportunity for adventure, learning, and joy. From exploring local treasures like the Bristol Museum, the Museum of Somerset, and the Fleet Air Museum, to experiencing the wonders of the West Midlands Safari Park, there was never a dull moment. Residents also loved beach trips and picnics, bowling outings, and visits to National Trust’s Fyne Court.

Closer to home, we strolled through the community on countless walks, popped into charity shops, and indulged in tea and cake at local cafés. Each outing brought a smile to resident’s faces!

Throughout the year, our homes hosted a variety of events that brought everyone together. The summer BBQ was a standout, filled with good food, laughter, and sunshine. ARBD residents showcased their creativity during pumpkin carving sessions, and a friendly darts competition proved to be a hit for everyone involved. The Macmillan Cancer Support bake sale was another highlight, where residents and staff united to raise money for an important cause, demonstrating the power of community.

We also launched the inspiring ‘Leaf a Message’ campaign, inviting the community to share messages of gratitude and encouragement on paper leaves. The campaign received an overwhelming response, with over 300 heartfelt messages from residents’ families, school pupils, and local community members. The initiative served as a beautiful reminder of the strength and support that surrounds Notaro ARBD Care.

This year, we celebrated significant milestones for our dedicated staff, with anniversaries ranging from one to 22 years of service. These moments were a testament to the passion and commitment of our team, whose hard work ensures the highest quality of care for residents.

Our efforts extended beyond our homes into the community, where residents and staff worked together to tidy up and help with gardening at the SEEMonster Garden and other public spaces. These projects not only beautified the environment but also reinforced our values of teamwork and giving back.

Inside our homes, creativity flourished with baking sessions, pizza making, and arts and crafts. Residents embraced technology through IT sessions, learning to use the NHS app, explore AI, and interact with voice command systems -enhancing their confidence and independence in a digital world.

Throughout 2024, we continued to raise awareness about Alcohol-Related Brain Damage (ARBD) via our social media platforms. By sharing educational resources, stories, and insights, we aim to break down stigma and provide support to those affected by ARBD, along with their families and carers.

As we close the chapter on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who made this year so memorable. From our incredible staff and residents to the supportive families and communities, your contributions have been invaluable. We look forward to what the rest of 2025 brings with excitement, ready to build on our successes and continue making a positive difference.

Thank you for being part of our journey in 2024. Here’s to another year of growth, connection, and care!
