February at Notaro ARBD was a month filled with creativity, connection and a renewed sense of community spirit. The month kicked off on the 1st with Campania taking a delightful trip down memory lane. A pop-up sweet shop, thoughtfully created by their activities team, showcased old-school sweet packaging that sparked countless memories and ignited conversations among residents.

The very next day, Campania residents got creative in the kitchen by making vibrant fruit skewers. This hands-on, engaging and healthy activity not only encouraged culinary exploration but also provided a fun way to enjoy fresh, seasonal fruits while sharing laughter and stories in the process.

On the 5th of February, Serenita ventured outdoors for a rejuvenating trip to Apex Park. Residents enjoyed a leisurely walk around the lake, complemented by coffee and biscuits. The outing was a perfect blend of relaxation and social engagement, reminding everyone of the simple pleasures that nature and community bring.

Creativity took on a tactile form on the 6th of February when Serenita House participated in a salt dough workshop at the Inspire Group held at St Paul’s Church Hall. Residents immersed themselves in the art of crafting various shapes with salt dough, an activity that not only stimulated their imaginations but also resulted in delightful handmade creations that they could cherish.

The culinary adventures continued on the 7th of February, as Campania residents honed essential cooking skills with an interactive omelette-making session. This practical class provided an opportunity to learn new techniques and recipes, all while cultivating a sense of accomplishment and teamwork in the kitchen.

Valentine’s Day on the 14th brought double the heartwarming activities. At Serenita, residents celebrated by having the bird boxes they had helped create installed in the Seemonster Gardens, preparing a welcoming space for feathered friends. Simultaneously, Campania residents put their love into practice by baking delicious cheese and bacon turnovers.

On the 15th of February, Serenita residents had the pleasure of welcoming back Livi and Mark for another Computer & IT training session. This session explored various ways to input data into a computer, empowering residents with practical skills and boosting their confidence in navigating the digital world.

The creative energy continued on the 25th of February when Serenita residents participated in a cake decorating session led by Lizzie from the North Somerset Training Community Hub. With staff and residents alike joining in, the session transformed ordinary cakes into edible masterpieces, as intricate designs were brought to life using icing pipes and a variety of toppings.

Finally, on the 27th of February, Serenita residents enjoyed a wonderful day at the local allotment. This outing was a celebration of hands-on work and the simple joy of nature, as residents came together to tend the garden, share their experiences and enjoy the fresh air while growing and nurturing plants together.
