What are the signs of ARBD?
We get a lot of questions about alcohol-related brain damage. People often voice their concerns about whether they or a loved one have it, how they can get diagnosed and what we can do to help. In today’s blog, we will be taking it one step at a time to answer each question.
Excessive drinking over the years (by this we mean drinking over 50 units per week for a man and 35 units for a woman) can lead to the cells in the brain being affected, causing a variety of symptoms. These generally present in the following ways (but remember, each person can be different):
- Confusion
- Slurring of speech
- Poor impulse control
- Memory problems
- Difficulties in decision making
