Campania visit Tropiquaria Zoo in Watchet
Tropiquaria Zoo is one of the unique zoos or wildlife parks in the country. A former “Art Deco” BBC radio transmitter station built in 1933; it now houses the Tropical Hall, Nocturnal House and Aquarium. Outside they have 4 acres of animal enclosures, together with two life size pirate ships, and adventure castle.
They are also an animal sanctuary and work closely with the RSPCA and other exotic wildlife organisations, to help rescue and re home animals.
We had the most amazing day and soon as we walked in we were greeted by macaws roaming freely. We spent the afternoon exploring the zoo and attended three petting sessions; meeting and holding a python, a bearded dragon and a tortoise. They also had birds walking around the grounds coming up to people and taking food.
We loved seeing the peacocks fanning their tail and we also saw an Albino peacock. It was a fantastic day out and we will definitely return!
