Campania care home share their festivities…
Festivities at Campania began with a Christmas party. Everyone enjoying games, a Christmas buffet and live music from Dennis Demille.
On the Friday before Christmas, they went to the Playhouse Theatre to watch the Christmas pantomime, Snow White; starring the famous model, Linda Lusardi. An amazing afternoon singing and clapping along and engaging with the actors.
The 3D section of the play was awesome! It was so realistic; with spiders and a Ghost floating around the auditorium. We all absolutely loved it!
Also we would like to say a big thank you to Westcliffe house for making and bringing us a gingerbread house.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
A relaxing Christmas Eve enjoying hot chocolates with cream, a flake and sprinkles. Then preparing the dining room for Christmas lunch the next day.
Christmas morning, some of the residents went to the Christmas mass at their local church; taking part in praise songs being and greeted by members of the congregation. Returning by 11:30am, just in time to receive their presents from ‘Mrs Claus’ and her trusty sidekick, Percy Penguin. After opening and seeing everyone’s presents, it was time for Christmas dinner.
We would all like to say thank you to chef, Steve, for all his efforts and hard work.
After their delicious Christmas lunch, some retired to the conservatory for an afternoon of old movies; Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang while eating lots of chocolate and cake!
Boxing Day
On Boxing Day; a walk to the ice skating rink at the Tropicana, for coffee and the most amazing window seat to view the ice skaters.
We had a really amazing time during our festivities; with lots of laughter in the building.
