Overview
Providing specialist support for individuals living with mental health problems such as Korsakoff’s syndrome and the effects of Alcohol-Related Brain Damage.
This large Victorian residence is located in Weston-super-Mare within walking distance of the seafront and the famous pier.
The facilities at Serenita are provided to enable independence. The large spacious lounge-diner, historically a ballroom, is a fantastic communal area for the residents. Here they can socialise and develop new skills together, through an ongoing activity programme or use the computers with internet access. Our activities coordinator ensures that there is always something going on. Each day, residents can be found getting involved in cooking, baking, art classes, gardening and growing fruit and vegetables.
Being able to provide a nutritional meal is an important skill and a rewarding and enjoyable social activity for many. Everyone plays an active role in all manner of tasks that keep the home running smoothly. Helping with the laundry, hoovering and general domestic duties are just some of the responsibilities undertaken by many of the residents.
Serenita has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There is always someone looking for a challenge in our games area which offers games and a bistro-style cafe area. Residents can also choose to use the homes fitness equipment, great for improving mobility or general health and wellbeing. Yoga is also available for those individuals who wish to take part.
Our home may well be a care home but first and foremost it is the residents’ home.
Each room has been created to be a comfortable place to enjoy relaxing in. We also encourage you to bring the little things that make your new surroundings feel like home.
